The second leg of Arsenal’s Europa League tie against Benfica will take place in Greece, at Olympiacos’ Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis, Uefa has announced.
The first leg of the last-32 meeting was originally scheduled to take place at Benfica’s ground in Lisbon, Portugal on 18 February, but was relocated to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome as a result of coronavirus-related travel restrictions.
And the second leg, initially set to be held at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in London, has now also been moved.
It will take place on 25 February, as originally planned, but will now take place at Olympiacos’ stadium.
“Uefa would like to thank Arsenal FC and SL Benfica for their close cooperation and support, as well as the Hellenic Football Federation, Olympiacos FC, and the Greek Authorities for their assistance and agreeing to host the match in question,” read a statement released on Friday.
Numerous last-32 ties in the Europa League this season have been relocated, as well as some Champions League fixtures.
